Job Description
Our high profile, tech client's mission is to build tools that help people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. Lifelike, interactive characters are an important part of this mission — and our robotics program is opening new frontiers for how animated characters can exist in the physical world. As a Character Animator on the team, you'll be pushing the boundaries of expressive, believable character animation. If you're excited about forging into new territory and bringing characters to life in ways that have never been done before, this may be the place for you.
Responsibilities:
• Create and push the craft of character animation across 2D and 3D mediums, including real-time and pre-rendered applications
• Create emotion, personality, and expressivity through facial animation
• Develop believable and visually appealing character animations, poses, and performances
• Work with Product Designers and Art Directors to collaborate, pre-visualize, and deliver exceptional character animation for robotics applications
• Work with Engineers and Prototypers to develop and improve animation systems (facial rigs, blend shapes, procedural animation, motion systems) that raise the bar within technical constraints
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate character animation into new mediums and platforms
• Proactively identify areas in production pipelines and execution to improve, and actively participate in cross-functional settings to create solutions
• Contribute to building a library of expressive character performances that convey warmth, personality, and emotional range
• Find solutions to technical challenges and improve animation methodology within pipelines
