Job Description

As a Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will manage the full cycle of semi-monthly and biweekly payroll operations for our US and Canadian employees. This role requires high level of expertise, meticulous attention to detail and adherence to both local and federal regulations to ensure accurate and compliant payroll and benefits administration. You will be instrumental in managing employee data, processing payroll, administering benefits, and handling inquiries with high professionalism.

Required Skills & Experience

• Process and administer end-to-end payroll processing, including wage, bonus, and benefit calculations.
• Ensure strict compliance with payroll, tax, and labour laws, as well as internal policies.
• Perform data and system maintenance for new hires, employee updates, and terminations.
• Accurately manage time and payroll data for both hourly and salaried employees.
• Process and verify recurring payments, and payroll deductions.
• Enrol, update, and terminate employee benefits in both the payroll system and with external carriers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle changes to benefits coverage, such as new enrolments and terminations, and coordinate with benefit carriers to maintain accurate records.
• Participate in all payroll related audits.
• Administer and manage short-term disability payments and eligibility.
• Review and process adjustments on monthly billing invoices for benefits.
• Provide expertise in payroll taxation and ensure proper withholding and remittance of taxes.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs other related duties as required
