Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Industrial & Infrastructure team at a large electrical contractor and lead some of B.C. most impactful and technically complex projects. From hydroelectric stations and high‑voltage substations to LNG facilities, pipelines, mines, transportation hubs, and major transit projects, you will be at the forefront of multi‑year initiatives that shape the province’s future.

This is a strategic leadership role for a seasoned project manager who brings precision, structure, and passion to challenging, high‑value electrical construction environments. You will guide projects from initiation through close‑out while collaborating with technical experts, field leaders, safety teams, procurement partners, and external stakeholders.

Day‑to‑Day Includes:
• Reviewing and executing the supply plan
• Negotiating pricing and monitoring budget risk
• Leading onsite and office‑based coordination with cross‑functional teams
• Tracking schedules, deliverables, and change orders
Supporting major projects including Vancouver subway expansion, BC Hydro initiatives, and mining projects

Required Skills & Experience

Responsibilities
• Control overall time, cost, and quality performance for industrial & infrastructure construction projects
• Estimate project costs, evaluate changes, and manage project financial performance throughout execution
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of the construction lifecycle, including contractor hiring and coordination with engineering, architectural, and vendor partners
• Develop and assemble all project start‑up documentation as required by contract (safety, QA/QC, environmental, permits, bonding, insurance, etc.)
• Review contracts to identify onerous clauses, risks, and mitigation requirements
• Partner closely with foremen and superintendents to review documents, plan labour needs, and determine resource allocation
• Collaborate with the Safety Manager and site leadership to maintain safety as the #1 priority
• Attend monthly site visits to oversee progress, identify risks, and maintain strong field relationships
• Oversee project schedule development and ensure all milestones are met
• Manage change orders, negotiate pricing, and monitor budget risk
• Lead continuous improvement and contribute to internal project management best practices
• Support existing projects upon onboarding, with progression to leading your own major projects once ready
• Work alongside project coordinators, project leads, and the procurement team for supply planning and vendor management

Qualifications
• Red Seal Electrician OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / P.Eng
• PMP, Gold Seal in Project Management, or equivalent project management credentials (required)
• Minimum 10 years of industrial & infrastructure project management experience within construction or related sectors
• Proven experience managing multiple projects from start‑up through close‑out
• Background in high‑voltage industrial projects (substations, generating stations, water treatment, terminals, transit) is a strong asset
• Proficient with MS Office; exposure to Procore, Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, Accubid, Primavera, or scheduling software beneficial
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of contract law
• Ability to create detailed project schedules
• Clear communicator with strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills
• Stable work history demonstrating growth, ownership, and long‑term project involvement

Must‑Haves
1. P.Eng / Electrical Engineering degree or Red Seal Electrician background
2. PMP or equivalent
3. Minimum 10 years industrial & infrastructure project management experience
4. Experience delivering large, high‑value projects (from $50k to $300B+)
5. Strong change order understanding
6. Proficiency with project management software (Procore or MS Projects; Primavera a bonus)
7. Demonstrated project completion from initiation through close‑out
8. Clear, professional communication skills
9. Strong interpersonal strengths: approachability, enthusiasm, leadership engagement

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Pluses
• Estimating experience (Accubid or similar)
• Experience with mining, BC Hydro projects, subway/transit projects, Hospital projects
• Exposure to large industrial EPC environments
• Accubid familiarity
