Insight Global is looking for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to work remotely in Canada for a large AAA gaming company on a 6-month contract. You will be assisting the Data and Analytics team on their artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) data initatives. This is a highly collaborative role, particularly with data science and machine learning professionals, and a machine learning based approach will be taken to generating data pipelines that can later be consumed by AI downstream. Any experience with machine learning based pipelines, projects, or solutions, particularly with feature stores, would be an asset. Your day to day will be assisting the team in maintaining their internal data solution by ingesting the data from multiple sources, running transformations, building features, and developing data pipeline flows that can then be utilized by AI. Your priority to start will be continuation in developing and maintaining their data pipelines, and the long-term vision of this role is to assist the team to find a better solution. Your expertise will be drawn upon to contribute ideas and propositions for a sustainable, consolidated, and efficient data solution. You will be expected to analyze the current environment, identify issues and commonalities, propose solutions, and make decisions on the data pipeline moving forward. Someone who is very skilled and confident in data engineering best practices as well as takes initiative, works well with others cross-functionally, and can navigate complex situations will be successful in this role.

- 5+ years experience as a Data Engineer working with best practices for big data, data modelling, and with both structured and unstructured data
- Comfortable working across multiple different data environments (BigQuery or Snowflake or S3 or RedShift)
- 3+ years experience working with SQL querying for cloud data warehousing solutions
- 3+ years experience programming in Python language to extract data and put into the warehouse
- 3+ years experience with Airflow
- Highly collaborative, takes initiative, great communication, and can navigate complex situations
- Able to analyze environment, propose solutions, and make decisions on the data pipeline
