Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Category Manager to serve as a trusted, customer facing category partner, supporting category strategy, assortment decisions, and execution. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable engaging directly with merchants, can synthesize data into compelling stories, and is motivated to help identify and drive growth opportunities within the category.
Key Responsibilities
• Build strong relationships with Walmart stakeholders, acting as a trusted category advisor across assigned segments
• Support assortment strategy, modulars, shelf strategy, resets, and analysis of current trends
• Partner closely with merchants in regular merchant meetings and state of the business reviews
• Develop impactful category analyses and insights using syndicated and non syndicated data sources
• Synthesize learnings from shopper data, scan data, and research into clear, visually compelling selling stories using PowerPoint
• Effectively communicate recommendations and growth opportunities to internal teams and external partners
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining strong execution and follow through
• Identify opportunities to drive category growth and improve performance

Required Skills & Experience
• 2–3 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or a related analytical role
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with syndicated data sources and measures (Nielsen, IRI, etc.)
• Ability to translate large data sets into actionable insights and persuasive recommendations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence in customer facing settings
• CPG experience is a strong plus, but not required
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred
