Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support a retail POS modernization initiative. This role will lead test strategy, automation, API validation, UAT support, defect management, and release readiness for customer-facing retail applications. Daily responsibilites will include designing, building, and maintaining scalable UI automation frameworks using modern automation tools and BDD best practices while performing API, integration, functional, regression, smoke, end-to-end, and UAT testing across enterprise applications and dependent systems. The role requires close partnership with business, product, and engineering teams to execute UAT, manage defect triage, validate fixes, and support successful production releases. Additionally, the engineer will develop and maintain test strategies, plans, traceability, quality metrics, and reporting to ensure release readiness and milestone acceptance, while integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and driving continuous improvement of quality engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience
-7+ years of QA Engineering experience, including designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites.
-Strong experience with UI test automation using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber.
-Expertise building and maintaining automation frameworks, including reusable components, test data management, reporting, parallel execution, and regression testing.
-Experience with BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) using Cucumber, Gherkin, feature files, and automated acceptance testing.
-Hands-on experience testing retail POS and checkout systems, including pricing, promotions, payments, returns, refunds, receipts, discounts, coupons, and transaction workflows.
-Strong background in API and integration testing using REST services, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, JSON validation, contract testing, and end-to-end system testing.
-Experience managing test planning, execution, defect triage, traceability, quality metrics, and release sign-off using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Zephyr, or Xray.
-Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar tools.
-Experience performing functional, regression, smoke, integration, end-to-end, and UAT testing across enterprise applications.
-Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into test scenarios, communicate quality risks, and partner effectively with product and engineering teams.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Experience with large-scale retail modernization initiatives and store technology platforms.
-Experience validating hardware-integrated applications including scanners, POS devices, and self-checkout systems.
-Knowledge of SonarQube, quality gates, containerized environments, and cloud-native testing approaches.
