Job Description

The largest family office in the world by assets under management, located in Northwest Arkansas, is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join our team as Head of Technology. This family office supports a broad and dynamic portfolio of investments, philanthropic initiatives, and strategic operations.

In this role, you will lead the vision and execution of technology strategy across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of creatively applying technology to solve complex problems, collaborating effectively with family members, internal teams, and external partners. You’ll be expected to operate with urgency while maintaining a long-term, values-driven approach to innovation and impact.

Responsibilities:
IT strategic and operational planning through proactive collaboration with business partners to prioritize current IT initiatives and coordinate the evaluation, deployment and management of future IT systems across the organizations.
Oversee IT budget for staff FTEs & consulting services, security management, hardware & software life cycle, professional services, cloud and managed services, digital & data strategies, and strategic project change budget. Ensure the effective, efficient and secure operation of all entities along with a proper balance between new strategic transformational initiatives and proper maintenance of existing hardware & software assets.
Deliver IT solutions according to ITIL, DevOps, SDLC, Agile, PMI, PCI, and Security best practices. This includes successful organizational design, hiring & managing talent, performance and compensation management, training & developing team capabilities and growing individual skillsets. Implement continuous process improvement to maximize previous investments and ensure long-term sustainability.
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives. Evaluate opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources including staffing, sourcing, network & infrastructure, purchasing hardware & software, in-house software development, security solutions, cloud, digital, data services and partnerships with external software vendors and suppliers.
Track and control metrics, measures, and proactive alerts around system capability, utilization, capacity, budget spending, service level agreements, etc. to ensure a well-oiled machine in IT processes and service delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in IT (MIS, Computer Science, Data Sciences, etc.) or similar field required.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in increasing IT leadership roles that include responsibilities with strategic and tactical planning as well as leading, coaching and developing a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
Excellent team development and management skills.
Proven experience safe-guarding business activities in a confidential and secure manner.
Experience identifying and implementing significant operational systems into an organization.
Cloud, digital, and data management experience with proven success in disaster and recovery planning.
Experience with systems design and development from business requirements, testing, and deployment, through to day-to-day management.
Project Management experience required – Agile method preferred.

Master’s Degree
Financial Services/Investments industry experience a plus
