Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Superintendent to join one of their federal contracting clients at the Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona. This is a task order that includes demolition and removal of 20 underground fuel storage tanks on the flightline - construction is currently slated to take place from mid-January 2026 to end of April 2026. The Superintendent will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliance execution of construction projects under federal contracts and will adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements while coordinating all on-site activities. This is a fully onsite opportunity at the Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona and will require travel following the contract.
Day to day responsibilities
•Coordinate work on 20 underground storage fuel tanks located on the runway
•Supervise civil work and excavation operations.
•Oversee stripping of tanks, removal, placement on back end, and backfilling.
•Ensure environmental testing is conducted as required (even though tanks are not regulated).
•Implement stormwater prevention measures to maintain compliance.
•Monitor for foreign object debris (FOD) on the flight line.
•Enforce safety protocols while working on Air Force tanks and flight line areas.
•Oversee soil testing and maintain accurate records.
•Follow proper procedures for tank excavation and removal.
•Liaise with stakeholders, including agency representatives and subcontractors.
•Schedule and track progress to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Required Skills & Experience
•10+ years’ experience in construction with at least 5 of those years as a Superintendent on projects with similar size and complexity
•Civil construction experience
•Federal experience
•Familiarity with EM385-1-1 with experience in hazard identification and safety compliance
•Ability to travel to other task orders for temporary assignment after this task order is complete
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
•Experience working at Davis-Monthan, AFB AZ
•Experience working on flightline at any US AFB
•Experience as a Superintendent on aviation or fuels project
