Job Description
A media company is seeking a Staff Cloud Engineer to join their team! The Staff Cloud Engineer will build, maintain, and operate cloud infrastructure supporting major digital initiatives, with a focus on reliability and scalability in a large‑scale AWS environment. This role involves writing Terraform and Python to automate workflows, improve monitoring, and reduce failure points, while partnering closely with engineering and product teams. The engineer will support systems tied to live events, troubleshoot performance and memory issues, and contribute to architectural discussions by clearly articulating design decisions and alternative solutions. This is a permanent role sitting in Tempe, AZ (4x a week on site), with a base salary range of $160,000 - $175,000.

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS, especially CI/CD, EC2, and memory optimization
• Advanced Terraform skills, including writing infrastructure and modules
• Strong Python scripting ability
• Production experience with Kubernetes
• Experience operating in large‑scale, high‑availability environments
• Comfortable being onsite and deeply hands‑on with cloud infrastructure
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Familiarity to GCP
• Experience supporting live events or high‑traffic consumer platforms
• Strong incident response and troubleshooting background
