Position Summary
The MES & Factory Automation Software Engineer supports the implementation and operation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), CIM, automation, quality, and AI-enabled manufacturing systems for a (ATA) greenfield factory. This role works closely with senior engineers, vendors, and manufacturing teams to deliver stable, scalable, and highly automated factory systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop manufacturing system solutions based on business requirements
Configure, test, and support MES and related manufacturing software systems
Integrate MES with CIM/EAP, automation, quality, and data platforms
Maintain manufacturing master data such as process flows, equipment, recipes, and materials
Support equipment and automation interfaces in collaboration with vendors
Participate in system testing, UAT, go-live, and post go-live stabilization
Troubleshoot system issues impacting manufacturing operations
Document system functionality, enhancements, and operating procedures
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, IT, and automation teams

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
3–6 years of experience in manufacturing IT, factory automation, or semiconductor manufacturing systems
Hands-on experience with MES, CIM/EAP/RMS, automation, logistics, or quality systems (SPC, FDC)
Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and shop floor operations
Experience supporting production manufacturing systems
Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
Preferred Requirements
Experience with commercial manufacturing software platforms (Applied Materials preferred)
Experience supporting MES or automation systems in a semiconductor fab, assembly, or test site
Exposure to system integration or factory system rollout projects
Basic understanding of equipment interfaces or material handling systems
Familiarity with analytics or AI/ML use cases in manufacturing
