Job Description

If you enjoy learning about and working with breakthrough technologies and are enthusiastic about working in the space industry, then you will be excited about the Senior DevOps Engineer opening. As DevOps Engineer within the Ground Systems Development team, you will apply cutting edge technologies to rapidly develop and deploy ground system operations and user service capabilities within a satellite operations environment. Additionally, you will identify and autonomously implement ideas/solutions within the larger development team to support cross-functional efforts across all areas of ground system software development.

Responsibilities:
4. Pipeline Execution: Not just running pipelines but fixing problems and ensuring smooth execution.
5. Cross-Team Interaction: Heavy interaction with support teams, app teams, and customers to create, architect, and deploy DevOps workflows.
6. Long-Term Goals: Aim to become the DevOps expert lead, owning the DevOps processes and backfilling current team needs.
Team Dynamics:
Current Team Size: 6 DevOps members (excluding you).
Location: Preferably VA (on site on Tuesdays and Wednesdays), but AZ is also an option.
Stakeholders: Heavy interaction with various stakeholders to support and deploy DevOps workflows.
Additional Notes:
Immediate Needs: The candidate should be able to hit the ground running with minimal training.
Long-Term Vision: Looking for someone who wants to own the DevOps processes and grow into a leadership role.

Compensation:
$57.69/hr to $76.92/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

-Current Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain a DOD clearance
-Tech Stack:
o DevOps Tools: GitLab (main pipeline tool), Artifactory.
o CI/CD Pipeline: Expertise in creating and maintaining pipelines using GitLab with YAML and shell scripting.
o Containerization: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Podman.
o Cloud: Familiarity with Terraform and EKS.
o Deployment: Ability to create, debug, and maintain deployment aspects in Kubernetes and Docker.
o Automation: Building frameworks for automation, standing up in Rancher, and fixing issues.
