Job Description
The BSA II will support fast‑moving, API‑driven agile teams as a technical liaison between product, business stakeholders, and engineering. This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, supporting a major initiative to consolidate multiple rate‑management applications into a single, enterprise platform used by both hotel and corporate users. The BSA II will work heavily with APIs, service mapping, requirements, and documentation, while partnering closely with developers who are moving quickly. This is a contract‑to‑hire role with strong potential to convert to full‑time.
Responsibilities
Temporarily report into manager's team while supporting one of the current key projects; role is expected to convert to FTE if successful
Support a major initiative consolidating three existing rate‑management applications into a single new platform
Gather and document requirements for new services and enhancements to existing APIs
Update and maintain service mappings, including correcting differences between systems
Partner closely with developers to keep pace as engineering moves quickly
Write and maintain user stories, specifications, and technical documentation
Participate in and help run planning sessions and backlog refinement
Review specification updates and mapping changes with technical leads
Assist other BSAs as needed as teams evolve and reorganize
Create or update user guides for new services and functionality

Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical BSA, or similar role
Strong experience with requirements gathering, user story writing, and acceptance criteria
Hands‑on experience working with APIs (RESTful preferred; SOAP also applicable)
Ability to analyze, map, and document data fields and service integrations between systems
Solid SQL skills with the ability to write and run queries
Experience supporting agile teams (planning sessions, backlog refinement, story grooming)
Experience using Jira and Confluence for tracking work and documentation
Strong technical documentation skills (specs, mappings, user guides)
Ability to quickly learn how multiple systems communicate and adapt to changing requirements
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience working with Swagger / OpenAPI specifications
Background supporting API modernization or self‑service integrations for external partners
Diagramming experience with LucidChart, Visio, or similar tools
Experience helping or mentoring other BSAs
Experience in environments without dedicated Scrum Masters
Familiarity with building or supporting net‑new applications from existing systems
