Job Description

An oncology provider in Prescott, AZ is looking to hire a dynamic, patient-centered New Patient Scheduler to join their growing team. You will schedule new patients and patient referrals into the computer system. You will get them scheduled for consultations with the doctor onsite. You will request records from other physicians and locations that the patient is coming from. You will also be responsible for scheduling follow-up appointments if needed. You will be responsible for scanning records into the system and communicating with the benefits team and medical assistants. You will track all referrals as they come in and inform the physicians of their schedule. You will need to be extremely organized as you will be canceling and rescheduling appointments according to physician's schedule changes; notify appropriate clinic personnel. You will obtain and enter all insurance authorization and correspondence relating to referrals in patients' charts and/or electronic medical records (EMR). You will arrange for patients to have financial counseling as needed. You will also facilitate communication with patients about surgeries or tests being scheduled and potential prep work needed, inquiring about test specifics from necessary parties and gathering patient information as needed. You will be responsible for follow-up on pre-operative tests to ensure the patient is cleared for surgical procedure and communicate with the physician and patient if further testing is required prior to surgery.

Required Skills & Experience

-1+ years of professional scheduling experience in a healthcare environment
-Experience scheduling for front desk and back office (reminder lists, chart messaging, etc.)
-Experience obtaining prior authorizations
-Experience working with insurance providers and networks
-Must have a High School diploma or GED
-Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and be able to multi-task
