Senior Systems Engineer

Insight Global is hiring a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) technologies for a commercial aviation company in Phoenix, AZ. This critical role will be instrumental in defining the future of their ADS-B product architecture, driving regulatory compliance, and developing innovative applications for national airspace safety.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the architectural definition and design of future ADS-B capabilities and products.
Define system requirements and develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for new ADS-B systems.
Collaborate with the FAA and other certification authorities to define new specifications and regulatory requirements for ADS-B technologies.
Ensure regulatory compliance with standards such as ARP 4754 and DO-178.
Architect and integrate transponder/ADS-B systems, considering both ADS-B In and ACAS technologies.
Develop new applications utilizing ADS-B technologies for both manned and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Work directly with OEMs and customers to understand needs, gather requirements, and integrate solutions.
Travel (10-15%) to support customer engagements and industry events.

8-12 years Systems Engineering experience within aerospace/Aviation
Deep ADS-B Expertise: Proven experience in ADS-B architecture, requirements definition, and system development.
Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding and experience with aviation regulatory standards (e.g., ARP 4754, DO-178, Minimum Operating Performance Standards (MOPS)). Experience in defining regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
Architectural Leadership: Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions and define future capabilities for complex systems.
Commercial Aviation Background: Strong preference for candidates with experience in commercial aviation.
Customer-Facing Experience: Ability to effectively interact with customers and OEMs to understand needs and present technical solutions.
