Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to work remotely for one of our clients in the hospitality industry in Phoenix, Arizona. This person will be ensuring the quality, accuracy, and performance of backend systems supporting the client's loyalty programs through a combination of automated and manual testing practices. This person will support business objectives by verifying backend billing operations, batch processes, and integrations with third-party vendors.
This QA will be responsible for validating the reliability and functionality of IT solutions by developing and executing test plans, identifying issues, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve them. Works within an Agile team to improve system integrity through test automation, defect tracking, and proactive monitoring of loyalty platform processes and integrations.
Duties may include the following:
Develop and execute automated tests using tools like Selenium for the loyalty platform.
Test and validate APIs using Postman or similar tools.
Create and run manual test plans based on user stories and business requirements.
Identify, log, and manage defects using JIRA or equivalent systems.
Verify accuracy and performance of nightly batch jobs and scheduled tasks.
Collaborate in Agile ceremonies with developers and stakeholders to define and meet quality standards.
Maintain technical documentation for test cases, known issues, and regression results.
Conduct regression testing and support QA sign-off during system releases.
Stay current with QA best practices and contribute to process improvements.
Handle confidential business information with discretion.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 to 3 years related programming/systems analysis experience.
Experience with automated testing using Selenium WebDriver (Java, C#, or Python preferred)
Proficient in API testing using Postman or similar tools
Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
Understanding of Agile development and sprint-based workflows
Exposure to batch process validation and backend systems testing
Strong SQL skills for data validation and test case creation
Basic knowledge of XML, JSON, and log file analysis
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities
Excellent communication and documentation skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of hotel operations and hospitality systems is highly desirable.
