Job Description

A client in is looking for a Performance Quality Engineer to join their team. While the whole team is responsible for quality, it is the QE who will guide those efforts to ensure Quality throughout the product development lifecycle. Responsibilities are shown below:

Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration, designs and develops software applications, and tests and builds automation tools.
Analyse and decompose a complicated software system and design a strategy to test this system.
Utilize best-of-breed technologies to build a layered, component-based, service-oriented testing architecture over existing American Express technologies
Development of Automation and Testing in a CI/CD environment.
Work with Engineers to drive improvements in code quality via manual and automated Testing.
Develop Test Plans, Strategies and scheduling of test activity.
Create and execute Test cases/scripts at any level as required (Unit, Integration, Component Integration, System Integration, Exploratory).
Maintain organization of Test case suites (BVT/Regression/Targeted Regression).
Validate and report on test results for software quality improvement.
Coordinate Quality at Every Step Involved in the review of the user story backlog and requirements specifications for completeness and weaknesses in function, performance, reliability, scalability, testability, usability, and security and compliance testing, and provides recommendations.
Work with Product Owners to prioritize features, maintain documentation and known issues.
Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to engineers on testing and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies and processes.
Reviews progress and makes recommendations for areas of opportunities/improvements for automation & tool usage.
Looks beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities.
Identify and illuminate risks to the whole team when identified at any stage of planning or development.
Coordinate with other QEs in the platform to ensure cross contamination of changes does not have an adverse effect on the platform.

Required Skills & Experience

6+ years of experience as a Performance Quality Engineer
5+ years of coding experience working with Selenium
5+ years of coding experience working with JMeter
Prior experience of Automation framework development for UI and API testing
Expertise in validating complex, high performing and distributed technologies on UNIX and Windows based infrastructure
Thorough understanding of testing and automation capabilities such as mocking frameworks, JUNIT, TESTNG
Extensive experience working with Jenkins for building, testing, and deploying code
Experience working with Maven to manage project dependencies, builds, and documentation
Experience working with Git
Experience working with Stash or Bitbucket Server to source code management and collaboration features, and integrate with other tools like Jenkins for CI/CD
Extensive experience with JIRA to track issues, bugs, and tasks

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Proven record of whitebox and blackbox testing capabilities in an enterprise setting
Exposure to NO SQL, and SQL capabilities
Experience in Cucumber or BDD framework
