Job Description

A client of ours in the environmental services industry is looking to add a GIS Technician to their team. This person will be working on a project for their Technology Operations team to pull spatial data and doing analysis for that team for municipal contracts, residential, HOA, and open market customers. They will primarily be working independently but will partner closely with the Business Analyst during their onboarding period. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs quality control checks of GIS data to ensure data integrity.
Works closely with field level personnel to perform GIS data updates and appropriate quality control.
Builds basic static and web-based maps.
Assists in consultation sessions with internal customers to determine GIS needs and requirements.
Works independently as well as within a project team to execute and deliver GIS projects of moderate scope and complexity.
Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of people.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 6 months of experience in Geographic Information Systems, or educational equivalent.
Knowledge of GIS technologies, including but not limited to ESRIs ArcPro and associated extensions.
Ability to create and present basic presentations to peers and internal customers.
Intermediate working ability in Microsoft products; including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet individual goals and deadlines.
Ability to work as part of a team and display a positive attitude for this dynamic environment.
Solid report writing and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
Ability to assist with complex projects within interdisciplinary teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Ability to write, modify, and read Basic level SQL Queries.
Familiarity connecting to databases such as Snowflake.
