A client of Insight Global's is looking for a data Analyst III will be responsible for collaborating with our engineering and services teams as well as our customers to cope and deliver best-in-class solutions to our government customers. Among other important responsibilities, this position will be responsible for scoping, documenting, and creating reports, imports, and exports as well as assisting with various data related tasks including SQL request and data migrations.
*Note: This role is customer facing and will build documents and guide customers project requirements.

Leads meetings with customers, or provides back up and support to Data Analyst I & II, to define requirements for new or updates to moderately complex or larger scale reporting, data import, and data export requests; collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product and development teams, to gather requirements and define new, or update existing, in-system reports for existing software functionality. Proactively manage customer engagement to ensure timely completion. Document all pertinent information on Jira tickets in a timely and complete manner.
Leads meetings with customers to gather requirements and define process for data migrations, including using existing SQL scripts to adjust or add data to the clients systems that cannot be accommodated by standard data migration methods; documents all pertinent information on Jira tickets and validates data post-migration in a timely and complete manner.
Updates existing or creates new technical specifications that incorporate customer-defined requirements for moderately complex or larger scale reporting, in-system reports, data import, or data export requests. Proactively manage customer engagement to ensure timely completion. Document all pertinent information on Jira tickets in a timely and complete manner.
Performs timely peer review of requirements and technical specifications for reporting, data import, and export requests to ensure team standards are being upheld; provides feedback and mentoring to teammates on items that do not meet documented standards.
Uses Visual Studio/SRSS in conjunction with SQL to create simple new and new based on existing in-system reports to address moderately complex updates and defects that are a result of a back-end query. Creates complex PowerBI reports, which may include reports with multiple tables, or other visual elements.
Proactively manage customer engagement to ensure timely completion. Document all pertinent information on Jira tickets in a timely and complete manner. Provides troubleshooting and other support through research and understanding of moderately complex report, data import, and data export specification documentation or available data management tools; acts as a first point of contact to provide mentoring and troubleshooting for internal processes. Proactively communicate to ensure timely completion. Document all pertinent information on Jira tickets in a timely and complete manner.
Uses Visual Studio, Visual Basic and/or SQL to update existing, or create new simple, custom data import and data export processes; acts as a first point of contact to provide mentoring and troubleshooting for data import and data export processes.
Proactively manage customer engagement to ensure timely completion. Document all pertinent information on Jira tickets in a timely and complete manner.
Performs timely code review of standard new reports and updates to existing reports, including bug fixes that required modification of the back-end report query, data import and data export processes.
Creates test plans for validation of moderately complex in-system report updates or bug fixes. Performs quality assurance testing; fully documents testing and provides detailed feedback on testing results.
Updates existing pages of the team's internal and process-centric wiki documentation to keep current with team standards.
Completes scheduled downloads in a timely manner for internal processes that require moderately complex analysis, the use of file conversion and/or automation tools, and manual manipulation of the resulting file; researches and determines feasibility of inclusion of additional download processes, including but not limited to: providing feedback to internal stakeholders, working with Analyst IV resources and documenting any download and/or file manipulation steps; performs quality assurance testing of automated download and file manipulation processes prior to being used in internal processes to ensure resulting file meets import requirements.
Write complex SQL queries to research data-related requests from internal and external customers that may require the use of JOINS or other syntax to combine data between tables or databases; write and test simple SQL scripts for data manipulation requests, including restoring deleted records, changing values on records that cannot be modified through the UI, making mass updates, or completing moderately complex requests that have a documented process to follow an existing script to utilize.
Adhere to Data policies and procedures, ensuring timely, proactive, and high-quality processes. Handle all user data and information with the utmost confidentiality and data security.
Adhere to company policies and industry standards to protect sensitive information. Immediately escalate data security concerns to management.
Travel to corporate locations may be required one to two times per year.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Industry Experience is a plus in the following areas: Government / SLED (state, local, and education), Diversity Management program, or Vendor Procurement process.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, written, and verbal.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to organize.
Ability to follow internal team efforts to ensure that deadlines are met consistently.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Publisher, etc.) and/or Google suite.
Strong experience with SQL, Visual Studio (SRSS and Visual Basic) and PowerBI.
Experience working with the Microsoft and/or Google suite of office products with a focus on Excel/Sheets.
Experience working with JIRA or other ticket management software.
