Job Description
An employer in Phoenix, AZ is looking for a Civil Engineer with land development experience to join their team and help to grow the engineering practice. This role pays from $85,000 - $115,000 depending on experience and qualifications. In the role of Civil Engineer, you would be responsible for:
1. Site Assessment and Planning: They start by evaluating the site to understand its topography, soil conditions, and existing infrastructure. This helps in planning the layout of buildings, roads, utilities, and other essential elements
2. Design and Drafting: Using computer-aided design (CAD) software, they create detailed plans for the development project. This includes designing the layout of buildings, driveways, parking areas, and stormwater management systems
3. Permitting and Compliance: They ensure that the project complies with local, state, and federal regulations. This involves preparing and submitting permit applications and working with regulatory agencies to get approvals
4. Coordination with Stakeholders: Civil engineers often communicate with clients, contractors, government agencies, and the public. They present project plans, provide updates, and address any concerns or questions
5. Construction Oversight: During the construction phase, they monitor the progress to ensure that the work is being done according to the plans and specifications. They may also handle any issues that arise on-site
6. Environmental Considerations: They assess and mitigate the environmental impact of the project. This includes designing systems for stormwater management and erosion control
7. Budgeting and Scheduling: They prepare cost estimates and project timelines, ensuring that the project stays within budget and on schedule
8. Problem-Solving: Throughout the project, they address any technical challenges or unexpected issues that come up, finding practical solutions to keep the project moving forward

- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
