Job Description

Position Summary:
As a Contracts Manager on our growing contracts and compliance team, you will be a key player in supporting the full lifecycle of government-related agreements. You will work closely with cross-functional teamslegal, sales, product, operations, and financeto review, redline, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, solutions-driven professional with the flexibility and initiative to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
This role demands a self-starter who can operate independently, drive contracts to closure, and ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end state and local government contracting processes beginning with request for proposal or sole source opportunity through wind-down in accordance with applicable regulations, statutes and laws for contracts in the Contract Manager's region.
Support cradle-to-grave contract lifecycle activities including intake, review, negotiation, execution, compliance monitoring, amendments, and close-out.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations, deliverables, and risk mitigation measures are understood and actionable.
Coordinate contract approvals and documentation in alignment with internal Delegation of Authority (DOA) and governance frameworks.
Provide guidance to internal clients on contractual interpretation, risk exposure, and escalation paths.
Maintain accurate contract records and data in our CLM system (Cobblestone/Salesforce), identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Maintain compliance artifacts in Microsoft SharePoint/tools.
Help develop and refine contract templates, playbooks, SOPs, and training materials.
Support audits, compliance reviews, and reporting obligations in collaboration with Finance, Legal, and Executive leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required
5+ years of contract management experience in a corporate or government contracting environment.
Prior experience working in small to mid-sized companies or startups where cross-functional collaboration and wearing multiple hats is required.
Proficient in contract law principles, drafting, redlining, and negotiation.
Experience with contract lifecycle management systems and tools (Cobblestone, Salesforce, or similar).
Familiarity with government contracts, especially state and local (SLED) contracting, cooperative agreements, and flow-down requirements.
NCMA certification is strongly preferred (CCMA, CFCM, or CPCM).

Contracting Expertise:
Proven cradle-to-grave experience across a diverse contract portfolio resulting from sole source or RFx opportunities, including. Ideally this contract management experience includes things like SaaS or subscription-based agreements, licensing and IP-heavy agreements, data privacy/data sharing agreements, subcontractor and teaming agreements (although our team does not process subcontract/teaming agreements, previous experience is preferred to be an effective partner with our Supply Chain counterpart).
Strong redlining skills and understanding of risk clauses (indemnity, limitation of liability, termination, etc.)

Systems & Process Orientation:
Experience with or appetite for CLM administration (Cobblestone preferred) and Salesforce workflows.
Process-minded with a desire to automate, improve turnaround time, and reduce administrative overhead.
Strong documentation habits (e.g., audit trails, intake logs, approvals).

Workstyle & Soft Skills:
Comfortable operating in ambiguity with minimal direction, able to prioritize, make judgment calls, and move work forward without delay.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
High emotional intelligence and professional polish when interacting with internal teams and public sector clients.
Collaborative team player who brings solutions, not just issues.
Strong critical thinking skills combined with creative problem-solving ability.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

JD or contract management certifications is a plus.
Business/government contracts training/certifications a plus.
Advanced experience with Excel and or SharePoint including building dashboards
Any administrator experience on a contract management software platform
Any contract management experience from outside of the US, specifically UK, Australia, or New Zealand experience is a huge bonus
