Job Description

Role Summary

The Technical Trainer – Fabrication delivers technical instruction, certification training, and hands-on coaching for fabrication operators across CNC, welding, blast/paint, material handling, and quality functions. This role drives workforce readiness, equipment proficiency, and safety compliance across all fabrication workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver role-based technical training across CNC Saw, CNC Drill Line, Robotic Weld Center, Manual Welder/Fitter, Blast & Paint, Fabrication Material Handler, and Fabrication QC Technician roles.

Lead advanced safety certifications, including Hot Work Certification, LOTO (Authorized User), Crane/Rigging Certification, Forklift Certification, and Respiratory Protection.

Conduct machine guarding, ergonomics, tool safety, chemical handling, and confined space awareness training aligned to fabrication exposure.

Develop and deliver hands-on OJT for equipment startup, operation, changeover, and shutdown procedures aligned to SOPs.

Validate operator qualification through skill demonstrations, written assessments, and supervisor sign-off prior to independent production work.

Partner with QC and Reliability teams to refine training based on defect trends, near-miss data, and continuous improvement insights.

Maintain certification tracking, expiration management, and recertification cadence within the LMS.

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications

5+ years of fabrication experience (welding, CNC machining, structural fab, or sheet metal) with at least 2 years in a lead, trainer, or supervisory role.

Hot Work Certification and LOTO Authorized User credentials.

AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welder credentials strongly preferred.

OSHA-10 certified (OSHA-30 preferred).

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Robotic welding programming/operation experience (FANUC, ABB, or similar).

Train-the-Trainer certification from ToolingU, TPC, or equivalent.

Experience supporting greenfield production ramp environments.
