Job Description

Insight Global is hiring an Electronic Repair Engineer for a leading Semiconductor company in Austin, TX. This RF/Electrical Engineer specialized in Semiconductor RF will work in their IRC (Internal Repair Facility). This role will focus on repairing, upgrading, modifying, or verifying a variety of sub-components of complex automatic/logic controlled electronic or electro-mechanical equipment at the component level. Additional duties include using advanced diagnostic techniques, improvising circuits or equipment to specific needs, independent work on assigned projects, complex analysis of major malfunctions at the component level, and performing calibrations traceable to the National Bureau of Standards. Critical knowledge required in setting up, operating, and adjusting complex instrumentation; analog, digital, and RF electronics; circuit design; mechanical aptitude in pneumatics, hydraulics, and fluidics; and safe working procedures.

Day-To-Day:
Develop repair processes and testing methodologies for RF Matches, Generators, and other complex repairs.
Develop RF troubleshooting methodologies for technicians.
Repair complex PCBs and controllers.
Provide leadership and mentoring to bench technicians.
Provide support in obsolescence repairs.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, prefer Electrical or RF focused discipline.
5+ years of experience solely working in RF at the component level in the Semiconductor industry.
Expert in RF theory in relation to Semiconductor industry.
Expertise in RF and AC/DC circuit design in the Semiconductor industry.
Prior knowledge working with RF matches and generators supporting AMAT, TEL, LAM, etc tools.
Demonstrated competencies in Analog Circuits Design, Schematic Capture, PCB Layout, Prototyping (electrical and mechanical), Thermal Analysis, Impedance Matching and Component evaluation.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high pressure environment.
Communicate with customers, suppliers, peers, and management.
Accurately provide repair estimates for both cost and time.
Document repair procedures and train others to perform said repairs.
Effective organizational skills to maintain stocking levels of key components.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to left 50+ pounds.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Expertise in RF power amplifier design (class A, B, C through E Passive network design ( filters, combiners, splitters and matching).
Experience with AC/DC Servo/Stepper motor rebuild and test.
High Power DC supply repair, testing, and calibration ranging from 1kW - 80kW experience.
5+ years of experience focused in AC/DC circuitry, advanced test equipment, simulation software, and discrete semiconductor characteristics.
Prior knowledge working with Labview, Multi-Sim, and Cadence (equivalent electrical design software also applicable).
Familiar with Hardware programming languages VHDL, Verilogic, JTAG, etc.
