Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Release Train Engineer for a leading financial services client. This individual will play a critical role in driving the success of a large-scale Agile Release Train, ensuring consistent and predictable delivery of technology initiatives. The RTE will lead PI Planning, coordinate across multiple Agile teams, and drive alignment between business and technical stakeholders. This role requires a strong, assertive communicator who can influence across teams, remove blockers quickly, and foster a high-performing Agile environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, metrics-driven, and passionate about scaling Agile best practices across complex enterprise ecosystems.
Day-to-Day:
• Lead and facilitate PI Planning events end-to-end
• Coordinate ~18 Agile teams within the Release Train
• Manage dependencies and cross-team collaboration
• Track and report on:
o PI Objectives completion
o Business value delivery
o Velocity and cycle time
o Risk & dependency status
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies:
o Scrum of Scrums
o PO Syncs
o Inspect & Adapt sessions
• Ensure Program Kanban readiness and backlog quality (DoR/DoD)
• Drive continuous improvement and Agile maturity
• Remove impediments and protect teams from disruptions
• Partner with business and technology leadership for alignment
• Maintain PI calendars and planning cadence
• Ensure all work and deliverables are visible and properly tracked in Jira

Required Skills & Experience

Must have an active cert or being willing to renew asap*
Must-Haves:
• 10+ years of experience in Agile environments (enterprise-level)
• Strong Release Train Engineer (RTE) or Senior Scrum Master experience
• Proven experience managing large Agile Release Trains (~15–20 teams)
• Hands-on expertise with JIRA / JIRA Align
• Strong understanding of SAFe Agile principles and PI Planning execution
• Experience facilitating:
o PI Planning sessions
o Scrum of Scrums
o PO Syncs & System Demos
• Strong dependency and risk management (ROAM framework)
• Ability to drive metrics-based execution and reporting
• Experience working cross-functionally with:
o Product Owners
o Engineering teams
o Architects & business stakeholders
• Technical exposure to:
o Java
o Oracle
o Middleware technologies
• Strong communication skills – must be proactive, vocal, and not reserved
• Ability to navigate and collaborate across multiple teams within the bank

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
• Experience in Technology Infrastructure (TI) environments
• Exposure to AI tools
• Experience in highly governed environments (compliance/control-heavy organizations)
• Strong coaching background across Agile roles (SMs, POs, PMs)
• Experience facilitating distributed/hybrid PI Planning across time zones
• Advanced dashboarding/reporting expertise for Agile metrics
• Enterprise financial services/banking background
