Job Description
The MongoDB SME designs and governs the enterprise MongoDB platform used by mission‑critical systems. This role requires deep expertise in distributed database architecture, data modeling, sharding, replication, security, and performance tuning to ensure data durability, scalability, and operational resiliency. The MongoDB SME partners across engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver secure, high‑availability database solutions from design through production and ongoing operations.

Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of hands-on experience with MongoDB in enterprise production environments including design, deployment, and operational support.
8+ years of experience designing and operating MongoDB replication and high-availability patterns, including failover behavior and read/write topology design.
Experience integrating MongoDB with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation practices (IaC, configuration management, repeatable deployments).
Experience with scripting to automate database operations, health checks and diagnostics using Python
Strong communication skills to work as the liaison between architecture and infrastructure teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Risk Management — Identifies reliability/security risks early; balances speed with controls, escalates appropriately, and proposes mitigations.
