Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Satellite Engineer III to support a large-scale satellite deployment initiative for a leading telecommunications client. This role will focus on the design, planning, and delivery of GEO, LEO, and hybrid satellite transport solutions, including Starlink systems. The engineer will play a critical role in configuring satellite links, planning antenna installations, supporting field deployments, and leading complex engineering efforts. This is a long-term contract opportunity with strong extension potential, offering the flexibility of remote work while supporting impactful satellite connectivity projects in Alaska and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Design and plan new satellite links across GEO, LEO, and hybrid architectures

Configure and support Starlink and traditional GEO satellite systems

Create IPACs (Installation Packages) for field installations

Support installation teams with remote guidance and troubleshooting

Perform turn-up and commissioning of new satellite services

Conduct RF link budget analysis and capacity planning

Assist operations with troubleshooting and recovery efforts

Document satellite circuits and designs in MetaSolv (training provided)

Produce site drawings, IP documentation, and testing documentation

Required Skills & Experience

10–15 years of hands-on experience supporting GEO and LEO satellite systems

Telecommunication industry experience

Strong experience with Starlink systems

Proven background in satellite delivery / deployment engineering

Experience with RF Link Budget Analysis and capacity planning

Strong troubleshooting skills including Root Cause Analysis & Recovery

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Engineering or related field

Hands-on experience with the following modem platforms:
Comtech, iDirect, Newtec, Starlink

Familiarity with documentation tools such as MetaSolv

Microwave engineering experience, including path loss analysis

IP networking documentation and design experience
