Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our financial operations within the construction industry. This role involves assisting in bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in construction accounting and be proficient in industry-specific financial practices and software.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, track payments, and manage vendor accounts.

Payroll Support: Assist with employee payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance.

Expense Tracking: Maintain records of construction costs, subcontractor payments, and project expenses.

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and reconcile accounts.

Contract & Budget Assistance: Support project managers in tracking budgets and contract payments.

Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintain organized financial records and assist with audits.

Compliance & Tax Filings: Ensure adherence to accounting regulations, tax codes, and company policies.

Communication: Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2+ years of experience
- High school diploma required
- experience working within debits and credits
- familiarity with general ledgers
- bookkeeping experience
- experience with Excel

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Associate's degree preferred
