Job Description

5+ years experience with design, normalization, optimization, modification of Microsoft SQL databases. Manage SQL database instances, or PostgreSQL, to manage and interact with hosted software applications such as SharePoint sites, NetQoS, Cacti, SolarWinds, etc. Complete design, installation, configurations, upgrades, consolidation, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance. Conduct database backups and recovery processes in accordance with all local and federal guidelines/policies. Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, tables, scripts, and implementation guides. Perform server migrations and data conversions, as needed.
Develop and maintain SQL Server environment technical documentation and system security plans. Provision, install, configure, operate, maintain certificate management requirements as well as the maintenance of high availability production and disaster recovery (DR) sites. Identify system issues and provide feasible courses of action to mitigate/resolve problems. Respond to system faults, analyzing and correcting applications or errors to reestablish service. Perform administrative work using and installing new and existing physical or web‐based database application systems in a smart card Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environment. Notify appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC), in writing, within 4 hours for all accountable item moves. Neatly bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.
