Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join an Engineering Consulting company in Mobile, AL to support Structural projects across the gulf coast. This role involves leading a team of engineers and designers to deliver civil/structural projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving deliverables, validating and tracking estimates, and establishing design criteria. The lead engineer will manage project scope, plan and organize team work, and maintain project control. They will also delegate tasks, consult with other disciplines, and ensure efficient use of construction materials. Additionally, the role involves producing specifications, monitoring drawings, and participating in training and professional development.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- 15+ years of experience as a civil / structural engineer with a background in heavy indutrial engineering
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a PE
- Prior experience developing construction cost estimates, detailed engineering schedules and man-hour budgets
- Ability to determine construction material quantities
- Develop design criteria and scope of work for heavy industrial projects
- Experienced in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of civil/structural work
- Complete understanding of the skills and experience required to perform engineering and design functions.
- Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
- Working knowledge of CAD design (AutoCAD, Microstation, etc.)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Licensed PE preferred
-Experience on refining projects or within chemical manufacturing would be a plus
