Job Description
An employer is seeking a resource to design, configure, and support SAP Funds Management (FM) components, including Funds Centers, Funded Programs, Commitment Items, and the Budget Control System (BCS). This resource will ensure proper integration of SAP FM with FI/CO, MM, and SD modules to support end‑to‑end financial management and procurement processes. Responsibilities include mapping financial transactions to U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) accounts and supporting budget formulation, execution, and control activities such as funds tracking and availability control. The role involves documenting functional gaps, process deltas, requirements, and remediation strategies related to FM and USSGL alignment, as well as collaborating with business and compliance stakeholders to validate requirements and ensure adherence to federal financial standards, including USSGL, GTAS, IPAC, and Treasury reporting. The resource will analyze SAP Simplification Items and assess impacts to funds management and budgetary control during S/4HANA transformation efforts, while identifying opportunities for process optimization and standardization using S/4HANA capabilities. Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed “As Is” and “To Be” process flows, translating business requirements into functional specifications for configuration, enhancements, and reporting, supporting unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, coordinating with technical, integration, and security teams, and supporting audit readiness and federal financial compliance activities.

Required Skills & Experience
Eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
12 or more years of SAP experience supporting SAP Funds Management (FM) and federal financial processes in a Public Sector environment.
Strong knowledge of USSGL, federal financial reporting, and budgetary accounting principles.
Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA Financials.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience supporting federal government financial systems
Experience with SAP Activate Methodology
Familiarity with Treasury reporting processes (GTAS, IPAC)
Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance transformations, including Budget Control System (BCS).
