An employer sitting in Huntsville, AL is looking to hire a Product Engineer to join their team. This person will be reporting onsite working a 9/80 schedule. This company has been a leader in advanced technologies and the program this Engineer would be supporting is responsible for research and development in robotics, sensors, software analytics and connectivity to identify innovative solutions. He/She will be helping to support their UAV systems for military and commercial applications. This person will be responsible for design modifications of structural components, electro-mechanical assemblies, payloads, ground equipment, launching systems, flight control actuators, prototype hardware development, performing design verification testing and configuration management of products. This will include product line configuration and change orders in Agile PLM system, understanding product design and features and familiarity with the manufacturing process. He/She will be in communication with the development team and Contract Manufacturers to identify and resolve gaps. They will be responsible for documentation and getting approvals on corrective actions. This Engineer will be running CCB (Configuration Control Board) and they'll assist with board layouts through integration and storage. He/She will also work closely with the program manager to ensure configuration is documented through hardware and electrical design documentation in the form of design drawings and bill of materials both in excel. This Engineer will be helping the transition from low rate initial production to full rate production. The growth path to scale is the team is currently producing 10 per month and they'd like this Engineer to be involved with the development and transition to 100/month. This position is paying between ($40-65/hour).

- 10+ years of experience in Product Engineering related to Avionics, Unmanned Aircraft systems, missile systems, composites/electronics etc.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers, ensuring configuration is documented through hardware and electrical design documentation and bill of materials
- Experience with Agile PLM, configuration management system
- Experience with (LRIP) low rate production to full rate production
- Experience with subs and/or suppliers
