Controller

This candidate will be working as a Controllersupporting a large regional utilities/construction company that is based near Huntsville, AL, as well as their sister companylocated in West Palm Beach, FL. The company in West Palm was recently acquired, and they need someone to help implement and set up a new accounting system. They will report up to the president of the acquired company and have a dotted line to the CFO. This will be a very hands-oncontrollerrole, where they will act as senior level accountant on the team. They will support a union-based payroll group, reconciling their balance sheets, month end, quarter end, and year end closings, as well as accounting journal entries. This will be mostly project accounting, and they need to understand the construction and blue-sky industry. The salary range is between $95,000-$110,000 depending on experience.

At least 3+ years working at a Controller level
Ability to work hands-on in a controller position (sometimes acting as a senior level accountant)
7+ years of experience as a full cycle accountant (month end close, reconciliations, profit/loss statements, general ledger)
Union payroll/accounting experience
Project Accounting experience (revenue recognition, fixed price projects, keeping up on the cost & phases of projects)
Construction/Blue Sky industry experience
