Job Description

Group Overview: Regional Planning & Support -- This team out of the southeast is responsible for ensuring reliable transmission interconnections with neighboring utilities (e.g., Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina) and as such, is highly engaged in providing leadership and influence through a variety of industry committees. It is also responsible for performing OATT delivery service studies for third-party customer requests. The team provides support to the entire department and electric operating companies through policy coordination, the creation of power systems models, development of industry-leading engineering applications, training, and ensuring compliance with all required standards.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required (Electrical, Mechanical or Civil. No Industrial). Pending graduates will be considered.

* Working knowledge of programming languages (Python, C#) and data visualization tools

* NERC reliability standards acumen & FERC transmission policy and regulation acumen

* Experience in writing code and has a developer mindset

* Creative individual who will be building relationships with fellow utility companies

* Previous experience working in the energy industry

* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and databases

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Master's degree in engineering or business

* Professional Engineering License.

* Experience in transmission planning and operations.
