Job Description

This role is responsible for owning and building out a grant portfolio that supports key program needs across Orlando Health’s Alabama hospital network. On a day-to-day basis, this person will identify and validate funding opportunities at the local, state, and national level, then lead the full lifecycle of grant development—from writing letters of intent and proposals to submitting applications and managing all supporting documentation and deadlines. They will work closely with Alabama hospital leadership, Orlando corporate teams, and community partners to develop and refine programs, acting as a consultant to internal stakeholders to shape ideas, ensure alignment with funding requirements, and build strong, competitive proposals. This individual will also maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, and grant-making organizations to drive ongoing funding opportunities, while ensuring compliance with grant guidelines, reporting requirements, and post-award execution. Additionally, they will support implementation of funded programs and represent Orlando Health externally by engaging with community partners, funders, and key stakeholders.
Own and grow a grants portfolio aligned to priority initiatives across Alabama hospitals (ex: behavioral health, community health, human trafficking)
Identify and evaluate new funding opportunities (local, state, federal, and private foundations)
Lead the full grant lifecycle including writing proposals, developing budgets, and managing submissions
Partner with hospital executives, internal teams, and community organizations to develop and validate program initiatives
Act as a consultant to internal stakeholders, shaping ideas into fundable, high-impact proposals
Build and maintain relationships with foundations, corporations, and funding partners
Track and manage all grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance guidelines
Support execution of funded programs, ensuring alignment with grant intent and organizational goals
Represent Orlando Health in the community through engagement with external partners and funders
Monitor public health and nonprofit funding trends to inform strategy and identify new opportunities

Required Skills & Experience

2-3+ years of grants writing and/or grants administration experience
Strong professional writing skills (critical)
Nonprofit work experience
High-level Interpersonal + communication skills
Experience working directly with senior stakeholders (hospital executives, funders, community leaders)
Bachelor's degree

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Public health or community health background
Master's degree
Experience supporting initiatives in:
Human trafficking, opioids, child abuse, behavioral health, mental health, HIV navigation, public health
