Job Description

*Analyze and review title documents including oil and gas leases, real property deeds, easements, rights-of-way, declarations of pooled units, and other instruments to determine where they are situated;

*Utilize these documents to create new GIS data, integrating this data within existing platforms, as well as performing Quality Control on existing data to improve our overall dataset; download new unit designations from various state and county websites, and integrate them into our existing dataset;

*Work with our fast paced acquisition team to support them in their mineral buying efforts, by locating potential acquisitions, discovering if they are in or near existing drilling units, adding them to our system, and helping the team determine their value;

*Establish leasehold boundaries against changing surveys, water lines, vegetation, and historical maps; compare lease boundaries to historical production data to determine whether a mineral parcel is validly held by production;

*Assist cross-departmental teams utilizing GIS and/or data-driven technology in order to improve collaborative efforts in GIS and data visualization across the organization;

*Work with land and engineering to best determine boundaries of future drill spacing units that can be relied on for Company forecasts as well as to value potential mineral acquisitions;

Required Skills & Experience

*Have received a degree in computer science, data science, GIS, geography, or related area;

*Minimum 2 years of experience working with GIS. Experience in a technical role within the O&G industry desired;

*Ideal candidate will have experience with ESRI products, specifically ArcGIS;

*Experience with SQL Server and Python desired but not required.
