Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Supplier Quality & Development, the Senior Supplier Quality & Development Engineer is responsible for leading strategic and tactical supplier quality initiatives across a global supply base. This role focuses on driving supplier quality performance, supporting sourcing projects, and executing supplier development activities through technical expertise, quality engineering principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.

The position will primarily support suppliers within electronics, electromechanical assemblies, plastics, and special processes including plating, welding, painting, coatings, and related manufacturing technologies. Additionally, this role will leverage quality systems, data analytics, ERP quality tools, and software applications to drive supplier performance and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess and develop suppliers by evaluating capability, capacity, risk, and overall performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and implement Supplier Development
- Plans and corrective actions.
- Lead APQP, PPAP, corrective/preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical quality issues and support supply chain optimization.
- Drive improvements in supplier quality performance through metrics, analytics, and process control.
- Monitor and report supplier performance across global manufacturing locations.
- Support resolution of systemic supplier quality concerns to improve customer satisfaction.
- Train suppliers and internal teams in quality tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Utilize quality software platforms and ERP quality systems to manage quality data, trends, and corrective actions.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Materials, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
- 7+ years of Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Quality Engineering, or Quality Assurance experience.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes with expertise in at least two of the following: Electronics, Electromechanical assemblies, Plastics, Welding, Plating, Painting/Coatings, Other special manufacturing processes
- Proficient in quality tools and methodologies including Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
- Experience with formal supplier assessments, audits, and quality management systems.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis skills.
- Experience with quality software such as Infinity, Minitab, IQX, or similar platforms.
Experience with ERP quality systems such as SAP Quality Notifications, Oracle NCRs, or comparable quality management modules.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
- Strong analytical, project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and supplier networks.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience in corporate quality, enterprise quality systems, or supplier quality leadership roles.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience supporting global supplier networks and international manufacturing environments.
