Insight Global is seeking a Sales Development Representative for our actuarial consulting customer. The Sales Development Representative is a vital part of their innovative and collaborative Sales and Marketing team. Working with the Sales Manager and the Account Executives, the Sales Development Representative will develop client and prospect relationships that turn into sales opportunities. This role is instrumental in building our sales pipeline, by uncovering potential leads and developing qualified opportunities. This will include initiating contact with people at all levels within an organization, including C-suite executives. The right person for our team has a natural drive to learn as much as they can and exceed expectations. The ideal candidate is a proactive hunter who enjoys cold outreach, thrives in a high-activity environment, and can quickly learn complex products and markets. This individual will serve as the "eyes and ears" of the business by gathering market intelligence and providing feedback on customer trends, competitor activity, and prospect needs.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop account profiles and business opportunities through outbound activity
• Build client relationships through research, regular calls and emails, setting sales appointments / meetings, and attending conferences
• Qualify leads, map out all possible contacts in a market or company
• Conduct outbound opportunity development as part of marketing campaigns
• Add and maintain information in Salesforce
• Achieve (and exceed) monthly quotas of qualified opportunities
• Become an expert on the entire suite of product solutions, as well as industry trends, and competitive dynamics
• Engage with other business units such as marketing, IT, operations and legal

Required Skills & Experience
• Completed bachelor’s degree in business or related.
• 1-3 years of strong Sales Development, Business Development, or outbound prospecting experience.
• Demonstrated success generating meetings through cold outreach and cold calling.
• Strong understanding of prospecting best practices and account-based sales strategies.
• Ability to quickly learn complex products, industries, and customer use cases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated, resourceful, and results-oriented with a hunter mentality.
• Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to prospecting.
• Ability to ask thoughtful questions, absorb information, and clearly communicate understanding back to stakeholders.
• Comfortable managing competing priorities and navigating cross-functional relationships.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel regularly (approximately 1-2 times per month or up to 40%) for conferences and events– frequent travel to Chicago!
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience at a large, structured sales organization (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle, or similar enterprise technology companies).
• Salesforce CRM experience.
• Experience selling or prospecting into complex business environments.
• Familiarity with AI-related technologies or the ability to quickly learn emerging technologies.
• Proven track record of successfully learning and applying complex products or technical solutions in a sales environment.
