Job Description

Day to Day:
Insight Globals client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Hydrogeologist to join the Engineering, Construction - Remediation team in Madison, WI. This position will integrate into a well-developed team of environmental engineers, scientists, geologists, and hydrogeologists to provide support and lead projects. We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience in the environmental field with an emphasis on contaminated site investigations, remediation, groundwater monitoring, and hydrogeology consulting experience. The ideal candidate will:
Coordinate and support a variety of field work activities, such as environmental assessments, soil and groundwater environmental investigations, and groundwater monitoring programs.
Conduct hydrogeological analyses, site characterization, and develop conceptual site models incorporating site geology and hydrogeology.
Contribute to technical reports and work plans and provide Quality Assurance reviews for technical reports prepared by others.
Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
Lead and assist development of proposals, including preparation of work scopes and budgets.
Provide oversight, mentorship, and review of junior staff work products for regulatory compliance, technical accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, clients, suppliers, contractors, and external agencies.
Develop and successfully implement health and safety and quality management plans for each project.
Travel periodically, possibly to remote locations.
Able to work independently or on a project team.
Take an active role in personal professional development, including learning new skills and actively looking for new opportunities to participate in projects and opportunities.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
- Bachelors Degree in Geology, Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, or related field.
- Valid Professional Geologist (PG) license in Wisconsin, or able to obtain one in first 6 months.
- 5-20 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, working on environmental projects including, soil, vapor, and groundwater investigations, contaminant fate and transport, remediation, and/or landfill groundwater monitoring.
o Ideally looking for senior candidates at 10+ years.
- Groundwater modeling experience.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with State and Federal environmental regulations (e.g., NR 700, CERCLA, TSCA, RCRA), standards (including ASTM E1527-13), and guidance documents for environmental site assessments, site characterization, soil and groundwater monitoring programs, and remediation of contaminated sites.
- Strong scientific and technical skills, including data collection, experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, and report writing.
- Valid drivers license.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to manage time and multiple projects independently.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
- Masters Degree in Geology, Geoscience, or Hydrogeology with coursework/expereince in Hydrogeology.
- Knowledge of vapor intrusion, emerging contaminants, or landfill permitting.
- Has an existing book of business/existing client relationships that could bring to TRC.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher training.
- Experience with MODFLOW software.
