Job Description

An employee in the Butler and Oshkosh, Wisconsin area is looking for an Generator Field Service Technician. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of generators. As well as diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components of the generators, engines and switch gears. They will also be dealing with clients face to face and need to keep a positive interface with service writers, foremans, parts departments, and customers. Keeping paperwork updated and handed in upon completion is mandatory. In this role they will be half electrician/half diesel when things slow down on the road, and if a building loses power they will be tasked to switchgears/transfer switches.

Required Skills & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with industrial power generation sets which are in the diesel engines.

- Experience with diesel generators and natural gas engines, electrical switch gear, and automatic transfer switches.

- Must have your own set of general tools.

- Be able to work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs.

- Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.

- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

- Clean driving record and the ability to pass a D.O.T.

- Technical degree or certification

- Any sort of leadership courses, certifications, or role prior to.

- The ability to set goals and accomplish them.

- The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.
