Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Estimator for a leading industrial construction client. This candidate will play a critical role in developing accurate and competitive project estimates for industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will manage the estimating process from initial bid review through final proposal submission, including reviewing drawings and specifications, performing labor and material takeoffs, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and supporting bid-day activities. This individual will work closely with project leadership, operations teams, and business development partners to ensure estimates align with project objectives and company strategy. The role offers exposure to complex industrial projects involving mechanical systems, HVAC, piping, and heavy industrial equipment while providing opportunities to directly impact project pursuits and business growth.

Day-to-Day:
• Organize and prepare project documentation for estimating purposes
• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate estimates
• Perform material and labor takeoffs
• Coordinate bid requests with subcontractors and suppliers
• Track and follow up on vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Develop project estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents
• Complete estimate packages from start to finish
• Collaborate with project leads and directors to review estimates before submission
• Support bid-day activities and make real-time estimate adjustments
• Maintain current labor and pricing data within estimating software
• Manage and update schematic budget databases
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors
• Partner with Business Development and Operations leadership throughout the bidding process
Represent the company professionally during site walks and project presentations

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in construction estimating, preferably within industrial environments
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and construction industry practices
• Familiarity with industrial piping, HVAC systems, and heavy equipment
• Ability to interpret RFPs, bid documents, and construction specifications
• Experience reading construction drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs
• Experience estimating piping and/or sheet metal systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Basic understanding of construction accounting principles
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
