Job Description

This position is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining secure enterprise network systems with a strong emphasis on Cisco wireless technologies across Wi‑Fi, LTE, and satellite environments. The role supports the modernization and lifecycle management of King County’s wireless infrastructure while ensuring continuous service delivery through active monitoring, incident response, and accurate technical documentation. It provides frontline technical support for network and system issues, coordinates with vendors and internal teams, and assists with upgrades, patches, and physical infrastructure planning. The position requires clear and audience‑appropriate communication, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and consistent adherence to county IT policies and standards. Overall, the role delivers high‑quality customer service and reliable wireless connectivity as King County advances toward a wireless‑first model.

Required Skills & Experience

o Minimum 2–3 years of experience in IT roles supporting enterprise network systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of routers, switches, and related infrastructure.
o Experience with Cisco/Meraki networking equipment and basic WAN/LAN technologies.
o Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
o Exposure to IoT/SCADA environments and Mobile Access Routers (e.g., Wi-Fi/LTE/Satellite) is a plus.
o Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
o Effective time management and ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
o Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Demonstrated ability to follow procedures, document work accurately, and escalate issues appropriately.
o Strong customer service orientation, with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism.
o Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

o Relevant network certifications such as Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CWNA), CISSP, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent experience.
