Job Description
Seeking an experienced AI Workflow Consultant to support the design and development of an AI-enabled solution that streamlines the creation of clinical trial study budgets. This consultant will help build a Perplexity-enabled workflow that interprets completed Statements of Work (SOWs) and translates them into proposed Life of Study (LOS) budget inputs.
The goal of this project is to reduce duplicative manual entry, create a data-informed baseline budget for review, and improve consistency across budgeting efforts. The solution will preserve existing workbook-based tools while enabling staff, managers, and directors to more efficiently review, adjust, and finalize study budgets.
In addition to generating draft LOS budget inputs, the solution will provide recommendations for potential cost savings and identify areas requiring closer review, such as under-budgeting, over-budgeting, incomplete assumptions, unusual effort patterns, or inconsistencies between the SOW and budget.

Required Skills & Experience
Experience designing AI-enabled workflows, automation solutions, or decision-support tools.
Hands-on experience with Perplexity, generative AI tools, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or AI-assisted document interpretation.
Strong business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow design, and business rule development.
Experience translating complex business documents, workbooks, or operational inputs into structured outputs.
Advanced Excel and workbook analysis skills, including experience with complex templates, tables, crosswalks, formulas, and structured data inputs.
Ability to define data mappings between business documents, assumptions, resource categories, and budget inputs.
Strong documentation skills, including the ability to clearly capture workflows, business rules, assumptions, and user review processes.
Ability to work with stakeholders to test, refine, and operationalize a prototype solution.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, missing information, and potential risk areas in complex datasets or budget models.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience in clinical trials, research operations, healthcare, life sciences, data management, or biostatistics.
Familiarity with clinical trial budgeting, study startup activities, SOW development, or Life of Study budgeting.
Experience working with consulting, research, or operational teams to improve budgeting, scoping, or estimation processes.
Experience creating AI prompts, workflow documentation, exception handling frameworks, or human-in-the-loop review processes.
Experience extracting and interpreting information from Excel workbooks, PDFs, SOWs, or similar business documentation.
Understanding of cost drivers related to clinical trial services, data management, statistical programming, reporting, vendor support, or study operations.
