Insight Global is looking to hire a Systems Engineer level 2 for one of their clients in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership at the program level to ensure deliverables meet all required specifications
- Maintaining a balanced focus across engineering design, analysis, and testing to achieve a reliable and effective solution
- Supporting system architecture decisions by modeling system behavior and aiding in requirements breakdown
- Confirming and records system compliance with defined requirements
- Assisting in developing test plans to validate overall system performance
- Contributing to the preparation of engineering reports and presentation materials
- Supporting the creation of interface control drawings (ICDs) and interface description documentation
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000

Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field)
2–4 years of experience in systems engineering or related field supporting aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries
Experience in the design and development of mechanical systems and structures, electronics, electrical harnessing/cabling, system integration, and qualification testing
Working knowledge of aerospace fundamentals such as structures, FEA, dynamics, and materials
Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams
Strong technical documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills, with a proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute complex, multidisciplinary projects
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience reviewing proposal materials, including compliance matrices and SOWs
Familiarity with DOORS Next (DNG) / Jazz (JTS) or similar requirements management tools
Exposure to ConOps development
Experience breaking down system requirements into subsystem/component-level requirements
Basic understanding of MBSE concepts and tools
Experience supporting architecture trade studies and evaluating design options
Exposure to program risk management (risk tracking, meetings, ownership coordination)
Understanding of verification & validation (testable, traceable requirements)
Experience working on cross-functional engineering teams
Familiarity with system safety analysis (FMECA, fault trees)
Awareness of aerospace/defense regulatory standards (NASA, FAA, DoD)
