Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join a Storage & Signing Infrastructure team responsible for core backend storage systems supporting signing applications. This team owns how data is written, stored, encrypted, and provisioned across Azure—powering eSign and backend storage services with a focus on security, compliance, and scalability. You’ll work on modernizing storage architectures, evolving databases, and operating highly critical systems at the deepest layers of the platform.
What You’ll Do
-Own and evolve backend storage systems supporting signing applications and state persistence
-Lead changes to encrypted storage, including provisioning and application usage
-Redesign how services write to endpoints and persist state into Cosmos DB
-Manage file storage architecture across Azure Blob Storage (backend) and Azure client-side storage
-Support migration efforts from SQL Server toward Cosmos DB
Build and maintain infrastructure for secure Azure storage provisioning, including compliance-sensitive environments (IL5)
-Operate and maintain services end-to-end, with a 50/50 split between development and maintenance
-Work within Azure Dev Pipelines, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code workflows
-Collaborate closely with application, platform, and security teams to ensure reliable, compliant storage systems

Required Skills & Experience
-5+ years experience as a backend software engineer
-Strong experience with C# / .NET
-Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
-Solid operational knowledge of Kubernetes in production environments
-Experience building and maintaining cloud-native services on Azure
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Security clearance or experience working in IL5 / compliance-restricted environments
-Strong SQL Server knowledge (including schema design and performance considerations)
-Experience with Cosmos DB or large-scale NoSQL systems
-Background in storage infrastructure, encryption, or data durability systems
