A well-known utilities company in King County is looking to bring on two Data Scientist to their evolving team! The Data Scientists will be working on machine learning and statistical inference analytics around electric power systems, including forecasting of demand, wind and solar generation, wholesale energy prices, hydroelectric operations, and so on. This will involve the use of data from national weather model outputs and electric power system operations. Required Skills & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a data science or analytics role working with complex datasets
- Hands-on experience with data mining and machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, regression, decision trees, SVMs)
- Proficiency in building and evaluating statistical models to support IT and business decisions
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate insights into action
- Experience working in collaborative, team-based environments while following data privacy, security, and industry guidelines
