Job Description

About the Role
Safran is seeking a Head of Engineering / Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution at a U.S. site within a global aerospace organization. This role owns day‑to‑day engineering leadership, people management, and technical delivery across development, industrialization, and production support activities.
You will manage a close‑knit engineering team (approximately 5 engineers and 1 Chief Engineer) and work cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams, while collaborating with global engineering leadership. This is a high‑impact leadership role suited for someone who enjoys both strategic ownership and hands‑on technical leadership.

Responsibilities
• Lead & develop a site engineering team, setting priorities, coaching engineers, and driving a strong performance and accountability culture.
• Own engineering execution across the product lifecycle: design support, industrialization, production readiness, and sustaining engineering.
• Partner closely with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure designs are producible, compliant, and delivered on schedule.
• Drive engineering involvement in process improvement, production metrics, takt attainment, and product quality initiatives.
• Manage multiple projects and competing priorities, providing clear communication and status to site and global leadership.
• Lead engineering problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action in collaboration with Quality and Operations.
• Ensure adherence to aerospace engineering standards, internal processes, and customer requirements.
Act as the engineering focal point for site leadership and global stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership or engineering management.
• Background in mechanical and/or aerospace engineering.
• Experience supporting project development and production/manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
Comfort operating in a fast‑paced, regulated aerospace environment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with industrialization, manufacturing engineering, or production support.
Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or structured problem‑solving experience.
