Job Description
A client in the greater Seattle, WA area is looking for a Chief Engineer of Pyrotechnic Mechanisms to join their team. This team's main function is to design, test, & manufacture pyrotechnic devices/mechanisms that utilize pyro to release or eject it. This team works in small teams to complete all tasks involved with the technical design and manufacturing of components and sub components. This team is in need of a Chief Engineer who is extremely well rounded in this space and who can help from a technical and program management perspective. This Chief Engineer will be customer facing and internal leadership facing. They will help to create risk evaluation and mitigation plans for each individual component and subcomponent. You will assist within teams to alleviate key issues. These issues will primarily revolve around design to withstand dynamic loading and the energetics margin needed to achieve function. The client is looking for an Engineer who can assist with maturation planning that allows for proper sequencing, and someone who is familiar with the pain points these type of mechanical structure have - with the goal of steering the team to quick evaluation of risk instead of analysis paralysis. This will be a key responsibility that the Chief Engineer will own - requirement interpretation and pushback, ensuring a well defined mechanism and pyro to drive it. The ideal candidate will be someone with 10-15 yrs+ of experience in the industry and is eager to be a active problem solver - both technically and programmatically.
This is a full time position with a salary range of $165,000 - $225,000 depending on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelors Degree in mechanical or equivalent technical engineering
10-15+ years of experience within mechanical, electrical. or aerospace engineering, specifically designing, testing, and manufacturing pyrotechnic mechanism or related precision aerospace components.
5+ years of hands-on, technical experience in aerospace mechanisms mechanical design
Proficiency in manufacturing engineering software/tools like CAD, PLM, ERP Systems
Strong background in DFMA (Design For Manufacturing Assessment) for precision aerospace manufacturing, preferably within pyrotechnic mechanisms
Strong experience managing complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with production schedules, cost objectives, and quality targets.
Experience presenting to and reporting to executive leadership
