Insight Global is seeking an accomplished Senior Data Platform Principal with deep expertise in Azure Data Lake and Databricks to join one of our clients that specializes in creating durable, reusable drinkware and food storage products. This person will lead and manage the enterprise-scale data platform initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive, technically exceptional leader who brings a strong blend of strategic thinking, hands-on technical execution, and people management. In this role, you will own and evolve the architecture and operations of our Azure Data Lake and Databricks platforms, driving the design and implementation of scalable medallion architecture. You will champion data governance, security protocols, lineage, and access controls across the data estate. Leading the development and optimization of high-performance data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Spark and Databricks, you will architect end-to-end data workflows to support both real-time and batch processing needs. Additionally, you will maintain and enhance data catalogs and metadata management to ensure data democratization. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will deliver reliable BI reports and self-service analytics tools aligned with business KPIs and analytics roadmaps. As a team leader, you will inspire and mentor a team of data engineers, architects, and analysts, fostering collaboration and innovation. You will also communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders, identify opportunities for data-driven innovation, and present architectural proposals to executive leadership.

Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise data platforms, with proven leadership roles.
• Expert-level knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks (including Spark).
• Strong experience implementing data governance frameworks, RBAC policies, encryption, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Proficient in building and scaling data pipelines, Delta Lake, Lakehouse patterns, and streaming/real-time data integration.
• Demonstrated experience in BI/reporting solutions (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
• Deep understanding of data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality practices.
• Skilled in collaborative leadership, people management, and mentorship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at interfacing with both technical and executive stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Certifications in Azure or Databricks (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Databricks Certified Data Engineer).
• Experience in regulated industries or working with sensitive/mission-critical data.
• Proven track record in driving enterprise-scale data transformation initiatives.
