Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to support a centralized Quality Assurance organization serving enterprise-scale game studios.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, data solutions and applied science, and product management, ensuring that our team’s efforts are directly aligned with strategic business outcomes.
We are a high-performing team with big aspirations to drive customer value by enabling Game Studios to ship the highest quality gaming experiences that players will love. This position requires cross-team collaboration, the ability to influence others, technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to solve problems in a complex environment.

The successful candidate is a strategic problem solver who understands how to motivate teams, enable accountability, and ensure progress across complex, multi-team initiatives.

Responsibilities 
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work side-by-side with Data Solution Engineers, Applied Scientists, Data Scientists to foster a culture of transparency and shared accountability.

Business Alignment: Coordinate with Product and Data Engineering leads to ensure all work maps to organizational priorities and business outcomes.

Azure DevOps Management: Diligently maintain work items in Azure DevOps, making sure every project and task is documented with clarity and accuracy.

Project Tracking: Maintain a live, accurate picture of the status of all ongoing initiatives. Stay in frequent contact with engineering teams, providing regular updates and seeking clarifications as needed.

Drive accountability: Be confident and assertive in holding teams accountable for progress, deadlines, and deliverables. Identify risks, escalate roadblocks, and coordinate solutions to keep projects moving forward.

Weekly status updates: Generate clear, actionable weekly reports for leadership and stakeholders to understand project status and resource allocation.

Initiative curiosity: Display an active interest in the diverse projects underway, taking the initiative to learn about the context, challenges, and goals of each. Seek opportunities for learning and deeper engagement with technical and strategic subject matter.

Backlog ownership: Maintain and groom the Azure DevOps backlog for Team, ensuring it is well-organized, prioritized, and reflective of current needs and future aspirations.

Required Skills & Experience

Extensive hands-on experience working in Azure DevOps (administration, process setup, project creation, etc.)

Proven program/project management experience in technical or engineering organizations

Strong organizational and presentation skills

Experience working directly with Data Engineers and Data Scientists

Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience with MS Project, Azure DevOps/VSO, SharePoint, and related tools

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in the video game industry

Previous professional experience working at Microsoft

Experience working with software quality/test teams
