Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team focused on developing cutting-edge soft wearable electronic devices. This role involves hands-on prototyping, design for manufacturing, and close collaboration with researchers and vendors to bring innovative sensor-integrated wearables to life.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, fabricate, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices.
Apply sound mechanical engineering principles to integrate novel sensors into wearable platforms, ensuring manufacturability and performance.
Interface with external vendors to support design for manufacturing (DFM) and prototype builds.
Rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate designs based on testing and feedback, and support experimental setups alongside researchers and engineers.

Required Skills & Experience

BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
Knowledge of the design process from concept to manufacturing
Average or higher experience with CAD modeling [Siemens NX preferred]
Physical prototyping experience
Experience with FPC/PCB design
Demonstrated experience with Design for injection molding, liquid silicone rubber, 3D printing

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of ultrasonic transducers and sensors
Experience developing wearable consumer electronics
Hands-on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection Molding.
Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi-disciplinary teams Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
