Job Description

A top aerospace client is looking to bring on a Flight Author to write Flight Test general procedures and sequence instructions. The main responsibilities of this individual will be 50% writing from scratch and 50% making changes to flight maintenance documents. These documents will be given to the maintenance/technician team to work on different commercial engines. This individual must be mechanically inclined, must be able to write general procedures and sequence work instructions. The ideal candidate will come from an aviation/aerospace background or a heavy machinery background. They will be responsible for gathering requirements from the engineering team, doing research and creating technical documents.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of technical writing experience (writing work instructions for heavy machinery, energy or aviation)
o Need to have experience writing content that is sequenced, so step by step work instructions)
Adobe Create Suite Tools (being able to use digital tools to create drawings for parts or engines)
Mechanically inclined (coming from heavy machinery, energy or aviation background)
Proficient within MS Office Suite

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Aviation/ specifically engine design or writing experience
Visio
Aircraft maintenance experience
